| On the occasion of the centennial anniversary of the Razi Vaccine and Serum Research Institute, this article pays tribute to the vision, dedication, and tireless efforts of the institute’s pioneers and founders. Through their invaluable and enduring contributions, they laid the groundwork for safeguarding the health of both human and animal populations across Iran and the broader region. In this review, we present concise biographical sketches of these trailblazers to introduce them to newer generations and to honor their lasting legacy. Established in 1925 amid a period of widespread and devastating livestock epidemics, the Razi Institute emerged as a cornerstone of Iran’s national strategy to combat infectious diseases. From its inception, the institute has been at the forefront of efforts to protect agricultural sustainability and public health. Over the past century, it has grown into a renowned center of excellence, celebrated for its innovative contributions to vaccine development, serological research, and biomedical science — both nationally and internationally. The institute’s early contributors played a pivotal role in shaping its trajectory through their perseverance and scientific foresight. Their groundbreaking work led to the development of vaccines against critical animal diseases such as rinderpest and anthrax, and later, to the introduction of essential human vaccines, including those for polio and measles. These advances have significantly influenced the control and, in some cases, the eradication of infectious diseases within the region. Beyond its scientific achievements, the Razi Institute has served as a platform for national and international collaboration, advancing biomedical research and fostering a culture of knowledge-sharing. As the institute enters its second century, it remains committed to its mission — engaging in cutting-edge research, developing vaccines, and supporting public health through education and innovation. This article not only reflects on a century of progress but also looks ahead, reaffirming the importance of preserving this rich legacy. By documenting the lives and achievements of its founders, we hope to inspire future generations of scientists, researchers, and public health professionals to continue this essential work for the benefit of society. | ||

| به مناسبت صدمین سالگرد تأسیس مؤسسه تحقیقات واکسن و سرمسازی رازی، این مقاله به بزرگداشت دیدگاه، تعهد و تلاشهای خستگیناپذیر پیشگامان و بنیانگذاران این مؤسسه اختصاص دارد. آنان با خدمات ارزشمند و ماندگار خود، پایههای حفظ سلامت جمعیتهای انسانی و دامی را در ایران و فراتر از آن بنا نهادند. در این مقاله، خلاصهای از زندگینامه این پیشگامان ارائه شده است تا نسلهای جدید با آنان آشنا شده و میراث ماندگارشان ارج نهاده شود. مؤسسه رازی در سال ۱۹۲۵ و در میانه دوران شیوع گسترده و ویرانگر بیماریهای دامی بنیانگذاری شد و بهعنوان بخش کلیدی از راهبرد ملی ایران برای مقابله با بیماریهای عفونی شکل گرفت. از همان ابتدا، این مؤسسه در خط مقدم تلاشها برای حفاظت از سلامت عمومی و پایداری کشاورزی قرار داشت. در طول یک قرن گذشته، مؤسسه رازی به مرکزی شناختهشده و معتبر تبدیل شده که بهواسطهی نوآوری در تولید واکسن، پژوهشهای سرولوژیک و توسعه علوم زیستپزشکی، در سطح ملی و بینالمللی مورد تحسین قرار گرفته است. نخستین پژوهشگران و همکاران مؤسسه با دوراندیشی علمی و پشتکار خود، مسیر پیشرفت این نهاد را هموار ساختند. دستاوردهای مهم آنان شامل تولید واکسنهایی برای بیماریهای دامی نظیر طاعون گاوی و سیاهزخم و نیز واکسنهای انسانی مانند فلج اطفال و سرخک بوده است. این موفقیتها نقش تعیینکنندهای در کنترل و حتی ریشهکنی برخی بیماریهای عفونی در منطقه ایفا کردهاند. علاوه بر دستاوردهای علمی، مؤسسه رازی به بستری برای همکاریهای ملی و بینالمللی تبدیل شده و موجب ارتقاء پژوهشهای زیستپزشکی و تبادل دانش علمی شده است. اکنون که مؤسسه وارد دومین قرن فعالیت خود میشود، همچنان به مأموریت اصلی خود پایبند است: انجام پژوهشهای نوین، تولید واکسن و پشتیبانی از سلامت عمومی از طریق آموزش و نوآوری. این مقاله نه تنها نگاهی به گذشتهای پُر از دستاورد دارد، بلکه به آینده نیز چشم دوخته و بر اهمیت حفظ این میراث ارزشمند تأکید میکند. با مستندسازی زندگی و خدمات مؤسسین، امید است که نسلهای آینده از دانشمندان، پژوهشگران و فعالان حوزه سلامت عمومی برای ادامه این مسیر حیاتی الهام بگیرند. | ||
