| Specimens belonging to the species Daphne L. (Thymelaeaceae) were collected from the northern parts of the country, which has the following morphological specifications: Shrub to 1 m high, stems firm, older ones brown, younger ones green; bark brown; leaves leathery, crowded at ends of branches, obovate-lanceolate or oblong-elliptical, acute, narrowed at base, glabrous, 3-9 cm × 1.5-3.5; inflorescence axillary, 2-flowered; peduncles axillary, 10-25 mm long; pedicles 3-8 mm long; flowers yellowish green; hypanthium narrow, lanceolate, unequal, two lobes shorter than others; ovary glabrous; drupe red, 5-6 mm long, 3-4 broad. (Fig. 1) In view of these specifications, and taking into account the available references (Boissier et al. 1879, Pobedimova 1949, Parsa 1951, Peterson 1972, Tan 1982), the specimen were identified as Daphne pontica subsp. haematocarpa G. Woronow. It is reported for the first time for the flora of Iran. Distributed from the Eastern Europe to Caucasia, this subspecies grows in the woods or shrubby slopes. It is evergreen, with many flowers and fruits, and it has a strong scent, especially in the evenings. In the existing classifications, the species Daphne albowiana is made a synonym of this subspecies (theplantlist.org). | ||

| در بررسی نمونه‌های جمع‌آوری شده از شمال کشور، نمونه‌ای متعلق به جنسDaphne L. از تیره Thymelaeaceae جمع‌آوری گردید که دارای مشخصات ریخت‌شناختی زیر می‌باشد: گیاه درختچه‌ای افراشته، به ارتفاع تا یک متر، ساقه‌ها محکم، شاخه‌های مسن قهوه‌ای، شاخه‌های جوان سبز رنگ؛ پوست قرمز- قهوه‌ای؛ برگ‌ها چرمی، متراکم در انتهای شاخه، واژتخم‌مرغی- قاشقی، بیضوی و یا مستطیلی- بیضوی، نوک‌تیز و در قاعده باریک‌شونده، به ابعاد 5/3-5/1 × 9-3 سانتی‌متر، بدون کرک؛ گل‌آذین محوری، متشکل از یک جفت گل، دم‌گل‌آذین به طول 25-10 میلیمتر؛ دم‌گل به طول 8-3 میلیمتر؛ گل‌ها به رنگ سبز مایل به زرد؛ لوب گل‌بنه باریک، نیزه‌ای، نامساوی، دو لوب کوتاه‌تر از بقیه؛ تخمدان بدون کرک؛ میوه شفت، قرمز رنگ، به طول 5-5 میلیمتر و عرض 4-3 میلیمتر (شکل 1). براساس ویژگی‌های ذکر شده و به استناد منابع موجود (Boissier et al. 1879, Pobedimova, 1949, Parsa 1951, Peterson 1972, Tan 1982)، این نمونه‌ها haematocarpa subsp. G. Woronow Daphne pontica تعیین نام شد. این زیرگونه برای نخستین بار برای ایران گزارش می‌شود. این گیاه از جنوب شرق اروپا تا منطقه قفقاز پراکنش داشته و در درختزارها یا شیب‌های پربوته رشد می‌کند، همیشه سبز، بسیار گل‌ده، میوه‌ده و معطر بوده و به‌ویژه هنگام غروب دارای بوی قوی می‌باشد. در طبقه‌بندی‌های موجود، گونه Daphne albowiana نیز با زیرگونه haematocarpa مترادف شده است (theplantlist.org). | ||
