چکیده
Because of the importance of rotifers as an adequate live food in larviculture, the objective of this study was to evaluate the probiotic potency of four microorganisms including Candida parapsilosis, Pseudoalteromonas flavipulchra, Lactobacillus sakei and Bacillus natto on suppression of Vibrio species and the increase of population growth, enzymes activity and nutrients retention in rotifer, Brachionus plicatilis. For this aim, five treatments, including four experimental treatments and control each with four replicates, were obtained. The concentration of 108 CFU/mL-1 of each strain was applied. The results demonstrated that the uses of L. sakei and B. natto besides of successful suppression of Vibrio in experimental treatments increased the population growth and nutrients retention. The longevity of B. natto was recorded as the best in long-term inoculation than other treatments and the control in a way that after 8 days of rotifers starvation, the count of B. natto was increased. The finding showed that two bacteria including B. natto and L. sakei appear to be a promising probiotic for rotifers in the suppression of Vibrio and also in increasing of the population growth, nutrients retention, enzymes activity and long-term inoculation in rotifers.
