Abstract
Wetlands and aquatic ecosystems are valuable reserves of biodiversity in the world. It is necessary to
protect these natural ecosystems because of wetlands importance from the plant and animal biodiversity
point of view. There are different types of wetlands in Chaharmahal & Bakhtiari province because of
variety of physiographic and climatic factors and abundance of water resources such as rivers, streams
and springs conditions. Choghakhor wetland is one of the most important wetlands in terms of tourism
and biodiversity in this province. This wetland is one of most important international wetlands of Iran.
The result of this study shows that 123 plant species, belonging to 34 families and 85 genera, are
present in this wetland. Unbelievable biological and tourism opportunities in this wetland, including
unique habitats of animal and plant species, increase the importance of these natural communities and
demand for more attention to this biological treasure among the wetlands of Chaharmahal & Bakhtiari
province.
