The survey about Soltani Canal and its tributaries, which have great importance on aquatic ecosystems of the south, has been executed by the experts from the Persian Gulf Fisheries Research Centre, since Oct. 1992 until June 1993. The goal of survey was to determine the rate of heavy metals, Pb, Ni, and Vd in the sea water, sediments, and fish tissues, and to evaluate the chemical quality of the canal. In this project, sea water, bed sediments, and both organic matters and fish tissues, have been analysed to determine the rate of elements, and physical and chemical parameters of water, the rate of heavy metals; and the amount of elements in fish tissue, respectively. The acquired results indicate that: 1- The suggested method for quantitative analysis of elements, is of high accuracy. 2- Bed sediments , having sizes of less than 63 ,u, are equally distributed from the view point of organic matter fixation. The total organic matters, are significantly subject to change. Their values in autumn 1992 was ranging from 18.86 to 27.76, and in spring 1993 was between 23.81 and 26.90 percent. 3- During both seasons (autumn 1992 and spring 1993), there was no significant change in the rate of water quality parameters. 4- Tita amount of heavy metals in selective fish tissues, were less than permissible limits. |
