| جغد گوش دراز Asio otus (Linnaeus, 1758) (Aves: Strigidae) در گذشته به عنوان یکی از جغدهای کمیاب ایران مطرح بود اما خوشبختانه جمعیت آن در سال‌های گذشته در نقاط مختلف کشور در حال افزایش بوده است. پرندگان شکاری از جمله جغدها، بقایای غیرقابل هضم طعمه‌های بلعیده شده را به صورت گلوله‌های استوانه‌ای شکل از دهان خود خارج می‌کنند که به آن ریمه (pellet) گفته می‌شود. در این پژوهش از مناطق مهرشهر کرج، اصفهان و بهار همدان، 744 ریمه جمع‌آوری شد. ریمه‌ها پس از انتقال به آزمایشگاه، ابتدا، تمیز، شماره‌گذاری، اندازه‌گیری و توزین شد. سپس با خیساندن ریمه‌ها توسط الکل، طعمه‌های قابل شناسایی آن تفکیک و شناسایی شدند. به طور کلی، جوندگان در 551 ریمه (74/06%)، پرندگان در 211 ریمه (28/36%)، حشره‌خوارها در 20 ریمه (2/69%) و حشرات در 13 ریمه (1/75%) وجود داشتند. از کل 583 طعمه شناسایی شده جوندگان، 231 طعمه از جنس موش‌ها Mus (39/62%)، 152 طعمه از جنس ول‌ها Microtus (26/07%)، 133 طعمه از جنس هامسترها Cricetulus (22/81%)، 47 طعمه از جنس مریون Meriones (8/06%) و جنس‌های Rattus، Nesokia و Rhombomys سهم بسیار کمی داشتند (به ترتیب 2/40%، 0/69% و 0/34%). گونه غالب در اصفهان جنس هامسترها Cricetulus (35/15%)، در همدان جنس موش‌ها Mus (43/80%) و در کرج ول‌ها Microtus (54/37%) بود. به علت عدم هراس نه چندان زیاد جغد گوش دراز از انسان و حضور آن در کنار زمین‌های کشاورزی در آینده نزدیک می‌توان اقدام به جلب آن‌ها برای استفاده در کنترل تلفیقی جوندگان در مزارع کشاورزی نمود. | ||

| The Long-eared Owl Asio otus (Linnaeus, 1758) (Aves: Strigidae) was previously considered as a rare bird species in Iran but its population has increased in recent years. Raptors, in particular owls regurgitate undigested remains in the form of cylinder called pellet. In this study, 744 pellets were collected from Karaj, Esfahan and Hamedan areas. After collection of pellets and transferring them to the laboratory, they were cleaned, numbered, measured and weighed. Then, these pellets were wetted by alcohol. Pellets were dissected and skulls and other animal remains were extracted, labeled and identified. In total, rodents were present in 551 pellets (74.06%), birds in 211 pellets (28.36%), Insectivora in 20 pellets (2.69%) and insects in 13 pellets (1.75%). Among 583 rodent prey items identified, 231 items were from the genus Mus (39.62%), 152 items from Microtus (26.07%), 133 items from Cricetulus (22.81%), 47 items from Meriones (8.06%) but less item numbers were from the genera Rattus, Nesokia and Rhombomys (2.40%, 0.69% and 0.34%, respectively). The dominant prey in Karaj was Microtus (54.37%), in Hamedan was Mus (43.80%) and in Esfahan was Cricetulus (35.15%). Because the Long-eared Owl can inhabit in agricultural ecosystems and near human settlements, it can be recruited to control rodents in agricultural fields. | ||
