| After heavy rainfalls in late Apr. of 2010 in Tehran, an epizootic occurred amongst hoverflies (Eupeodes corollae Fabricius) population in green spaces of Iranian Research Institute of Plant Protection, caused by an entomopathogenic fungus. Infected flies fixed to the upper parts of whitetop (Lepidium draba L.) and small tumbleweed mustard (Sisymbrium loeslii L.) plants with their proboscis and clasped legs, their head went downwards and their wings spread latero-dorsally. The fungus produced conidiophores, which ruptured the host cuticle at the intersegmental membranes, resulting in cream-coloured mycelial bands on the abdomen or in a complete cover of the dorsal abdomen. They forcibley discharged around primary conidia, many of them landed on wings and on the surface of the cadaver. | ||

| پس از بارندگی‌های فراوان اردیبهشت ماه 1389 تهران، در فضای سبز موسسه تحقیقات گیاه‌پزشکی کشور، تعداد زیادی لاشه مگس گل، Eupeodes corollae (Fabricius)، متعلق به خانوادهSyrphidae ، آلوده به نوعی قارچ بیماری‌زای حشرات دیده شد. آن‌ها بر بخش‌های بالایی گیاهان شاهی وحشی (Lepidium draba L.) و خاکشیر (Sisymbrium loeslii L.) به کمک خرطوم و پاهای قلاب شده خود چسبیده بودند، به شکلی که سر آن‌ها به پایین خم و بال‌هایشان به دو طرف باز و به پایین چرخیده بود. کنیدیوفورها از لابه‌لای بندهای بخش شکمی حشره بیرون زده و در بعضی نمونه‌ها به شکل پوشش کرم رنگ نمد مانندی آن را کاملا پوشانده بود، همچنین کنیدیوم‌های اولیه به اطراف پرتاب شده بودند به طوری که تعداد زیادی از آن‌ها بر بال‌ها و بدن حشره نشسته بود. | ||
